The film industry is undoubtedly filled with plenty of big-name figures. Now if we were to make a list of said figures, it goes without saying that Johnny Depp would make his way there sooner or later. Like all journeys, though, Depp’s began in square one. Before his love for acting, Depp was first a music enthusiast – he received a guitar for his 12th birthday.

His push into the acting scene came when he received encouraging words from none other than Nicolas Cage – though James Dean was also one of Depp’s idols. Well, having debuted with an acting credit in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Depp has since garnered worldwide acclaim for his role in films such as The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Sweeney Todd. Plus, he has also found just as much success as a musician with his rock band, Hollywood Vampires.
