Jimmy Carter — $10 Million

Jimmy Carter, a former naval officer, Governor of Georgia, and President of the US, currently has a $10 million net worth. Prior to serving as the 39th President of the US from 1977 to 1981, Carter ran a successful peanut farm. In his early years, he made investments in and took over the Carter farms and then became a leader within his small community, where he started a desire in public service. In the early ’60s, he was elected to the Georgia Senate and then the Governor of Georgia.

In December 1974, Carter announced his candidacy for President. He won the party’s nomination and was at first considered to have no chance at winning against more popular candidates. Still, he became the front-runner early on by winning several caucuses. He was elected President in 1972, winning the popular vote by two percentage points, and became a champion of human rights.
