Gabrielle Union
Gabrielle Monique Union is an American actress, voice artist, activist, and author. Prior to her acting career, she graduated with a sociology degree from UCLA. She appeared in various TV shows before landing a role in the 2000 film Bring It On, where she played Isis, the captain of the rival cheerleading team. The performance earned her a Black Reel Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Union started dating NBA star Dwyane Wade in 2008. They married in Miami, Florida, on August 30, 2014, and she became the stepmother to his three children. Union and Wade’s honeymoon was spent in the Maldives and Tanzania. Their daughter, Kaavia James, was born via surrogate on November 7, 2018. Union has written two books, the first being a memoir entitled We’re Going to Need More Wine, and the second being a children’s book entitled Welcome to the Party.
