Cindy Crawford
Although Cindy Crawford found fame through her physical appearance, the brown-haired, brown-eyed model first distinguished herself through her intellectual attributes. She enrolled in Chicago’s Northwestern University to earn a degree in chemical engineering, but her academic career proved short-lived when, during her freshman year, she left college to pursue a modeling career. She married Rande Gerber, a nightclub owner and developer, in 1998. Their children, Presley and Kaia, are also models.
In 2000, Crawford retired from professional modelling, only appearing in a handful of publications and runways since then. She has since turned her attention towards business, where she found success through a furniture collection and collaborations with Raymour & Flanigan and J.C. Penney. Crawford is also actively involved in charity work. She has supported organizations such as the California Wildlife Center, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
